- The Guthrie Theatre
- The New York City Center Joffrey Ballet
- The Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM)
- Cincinnati Ballet Company
He retired in 2015. Today he is your Erehwon Retreat proprietor and host.
What makes a perfect vacation home host?
We’d argue that it’s experience and character. Firstly, Henry has been a sailor since his teens. Drawing on his Naval service as a navigator, he and his family spent 1992 sailing all of the Great Lakes, the Oswego & Erie Canals, Hudson River, Long Island Sound, Atlantic Seaboard and Bahamian waters. Ultimately, this route followed parts of the log of the first Columbus visit to the New World. This adventure was in recognition of the Columbus Quincentenary. Why not read about some of Henry’s 10,000 nautical mile trip aboard Siskiwit.com?
Secondly, when you meet your Erehwon Retreat proprietor and host you’ll understand Henry Young knows the ins and outs of traveling. Amazingly, he’s visited Iceland, United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Italy, Austria, Germany, Belarus, Bulgaria, Greece (Crete, Rhodes, Hydra), Bermuda, the Virgin Islands, Bahamas, Puerto Rico, Haiti, Mexico, Chile, Argentina, Montevideo, Uruguay, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and Canada. In fact, in 1976 under the auspices of the US Department of State – he went to Cuba. Why not ask him about his two encounters with Fidel Castro!
Finally, since moving from Annapolis to Tampa, he has hiked in over 100 Florida State or County parks and preserves. With his eclectic worldly and local Florida knowledge, he assures guests a unique experience. People constantly mention him in their reviews of Erehwon Retreat. This is primarily because of the excellent recommendations he makes during their visit.
